Verification bot

AEON42-SEO

If you got here from your server logs or your WAF, this page explains what this bot is, what it does, and how to manage it.

Full User-Agent

Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; AEON42-SEO/1.0; +https://aeon42.com/bot)

What it does (and doesn't)

Targeted checks, not bulk crawling

It requests a handful of specific URLs: robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt and the homepage (to read metadata and JSON-LD structured data). It does not crawl the whole site or follow link chains.

Low volume

Typically fewer than 10 requests per run, on weekly or monthly runs per site. It creates no noticeable load.

No indexing, no republishing

Results feed only the technical reports of the site owner (or their agency) inside AEON42. We don't build a public index or train models on your content.

Why it visits your site

  • The site owner or their agency connected it to AEON42 to monitor its technical health, SEO and AI-search visibility.
  • Someone requested the free instant audit at aeon42.com/en/audit by typing the domain — in that case the bot makes a single light pass.

Speed measurements (Core Web Vitals) do not use this User-Agent: they come from Google's infrastructure (PageSpeed Insights / Chrome UX Report).

How to allow it

If your WAF or CDN blocks bots by User-Agent (the site's panel will show “Unverifiable”), add an exception for the distinctive token:

AEON42-SEO

Cloudflare expression example (WAF skip/exception rule):

(http.user_agent contains "AEON42-SEO")

How to block it

Block the User-Agent in your firewall or WAF — the bot's checks will record the site as “unverifiable” and won't insist. If you'd rather have your domain excluded from the public audit, write to us and we will. [email protected]
